Class Notes (Summer 2026-2027)

A Trip Down Memory Lane

If you were part of our epic Homecoming Birthday Bash at Puri Bhagawan on August 1, 2026, you'll know that one of the event's highlights was a trip down memory lane, courtesy of our Decade Slideshows!

Displayed on big screens throughout the evening, the slideshows featured nostalgic photos of Dragons across the decades. They brought back long-cherished memories of JIS days gone by, inspiring shared smiles, laughter, and a few tears.

You couldn't stop talking about them! The response was so enthusiastic that these video slides are now available in your respective Decade Dragon clubs on the JIS Alumni Community platform.

Log in (or sign up), find your decade, and see how many familiar faces you can spot!

On Campus

Fatma Kemala

For Fatma Kemala (Class of 2007), a visit back to JIS over the school break was a chance to share a special part of her childhood with her son. Together, they explored her old classrooms, visited the Senior Huts, and even found her Junior yearbook in the library — a memorable trip down memory lane!

Dragons in the Wild

Houston Dragons

Spotted: Dragons enjoying a hearty lunch together in Houston, Texas! From the Class of 1974 to the Class of 1988, this gathering brought together alumni spanning more than a decade of JIS history.

Pictured are (from left) Eloisa Castillo (Class of 1988), Sherry Stodghill Moser (1983), Denise Brewer (1982), Jackson Moydell (1979), Jeff Oakes (1980), Zach Oakes (Jeff's son), Engeline Tan (1979), Ken Penske (Engeline's other half), Lennox (Denise's grandson), Bridget (friend of Jeff), Bill Reeves (1979), Abe Jimenez (Pam's other half), and Pam Enriquez (1974).

Ritika Ramesh and Amina Ahmed

These Dragons are celebrating 14 years of friendship!

Ritika Ramesh and Amina Ahmed (Class of 2014) reconnected recently to catch up on where life has taken them and reflect on the time they met as JIS High School Juniors.

Ritika is now based in Chicago, while Amina lives and works in Washington, DC.

Alumni Leo Castiglioni and Jason Friis Sørensen

These Dragons were spotted in Uruguay! Eleven years after graduating from JIS, Class of 2015 Alumni Leo Castiglioni and Jason Friis Sørensen reunited in Montevideo when a semester-long exchange program brought Jason from Copenhagen to Uruguay.

Leo was there to welcome his High School “pal”, picking him up from the airport and treating him to a traditional Uruguayan lunch as they caught up on more than a decade of life.

Jason is studying Business, Language, and Culture at Copenhagen Business School while working as a personal trainer. Leo is a chiropractor who calls Montevideo home.
