Can you tell us about Dew It?
Dew It is rooted in purpose. Beyond skincare, it’s about giving busy people — especially women — an easy, beautiful way to take care of themselves. Today, the brand includes Core SPF essentials, Color-driven SPF Beauty, and Dew It Kids. We’re also proud to be reef-safe and to give back by donating sunscreen and sun safety education to public schools and orphanages across Indonesia.
How and when did you first come up with the idea of Dew It?
The idea of Dew It started when I became a mom and realized how little time I had to stick to complicated skincare routines. I wanted products that were easy, effective, and felt good to use, even on the go. With my background in branding and manufacturing, I saw a gap in the market for fun, sun-focused skincare that could simplify self-care — and that’s how Dew It was born. It’s since evolved into a brand rooted in sun protection, skin positivity, and effortless beauty.
What has been the most challenging part of running your own business?
Wearing all the hats! From product development to finance to team leadership, running a business means constantly switching roles. One of the hardest things has been staying focused on the big picture while managing all the day-to-day fires. And of course, maintaining momentum while juggling motherhood and marriage adds its own layer of challenge — but it also keeps me grounded.
What has been the most exciting or surprising part of the journey so far?
Seeing strangers love and trust a brand I built from scratch. It never gets old. One of the most surprising things has been how emotionally connected people feel to our products, especially moms who message me saying, “This made SPF fun for my kids” or “I finally enjoy wearing sunscreen”. That’s when it feels bigger than just a business.
How did your time at JIS support your venture?
JIS was where I learned how to think independently, collaborate creatively, and communicate with confidence. It was such a diverse environment that it pushed me to be open-minded, curious, and unafraid to try new things — all of which are crucial in entrepreneurship. It also nurtured my creativity, which plays a huge role in branding and product development today.
What was the last book you read?
Honestly… Save Our Sleep, a book about sleep training my kids. Not exactly glamorous, but very necessary in this season of life!
Who would be your ideal celebrity dinner date and why?
Oprah. Her presence, her questions, her energy — I feel like she’d leave me with 10 life-changing insights over one meal.
What was your favorite subject/activity at JIS and why?
Art! It was the one class where there were no right or wrong answers. It gave me the freedom to express myself — a skill I still use every day in branding and visual storytelling (I also went on to go to art school, Parsons).
What was your favorite place at JIS?
The Senior Hut by the fountain — where all the fun happened in between classes. It was our little hub of chaos, laughter, and connection.
