Maya's Message (Summer 2026-2027)

Dear Fellow Alumni,

What a way to begin the new academic year at JIS! The start of 2026-2027 is truly one for the Dragon history books as we celebrate 75 years of JIS. This is a special milestone that gives us the wonderful opportunity to reflect on our school’s history, celebrate all we’ve accomplished, and look ahead to a promising future.

On-campus celebrations officially kicked off on September 1, JIS’s birthday itself, with a collaborative, schoolwide undertaking made possible by our students. You can read more about that memorable moment here. All I can say is that it was a true show of Dragon Spirit!

Of course, we have you, our dedicated Alumni, to thank for getting the festivities off to an unforgettable start. From July 29-August 2, more than 500 of you returned to Indonesia for the JIS 75 Alumni Homecoming across Jakarta and Bali. It was an extraordinary four days of friendship, memories, and laughter — all in honor of the school that shaped so much of our formative years. 

But the celebrations are far from over. We’re looking forward to JIS reunions around the world, including gatherings in New York, Los Angeles, Seoul, Sydney, and more! You’ll find a full list of locations and dates in this edition of Dragon News, as well as stories about fellow Alumni who have found meaningful ways to live out their passions.
