A Birthday to Remember!

75 Years to the day that JIS first opened its doors with three children... the scene on our JIS campus in 2026 was a little different!

On the morning of September 1, more than 2,200 students and 650 teachers and staff from across all our campuses gathered at the Cilandak campus to celebrate a very special occasion: JIS’s 75th birthday! 

Dressed in blue and white, they gathered on Field 1 to form a massive, Dragon-scale “JIS 75” for a drone shot that captured the day’s festive energy from above. But more than that, it was a wonderful moment of community and connection, with the entire Dragon family coming together to mark a milestone that belongs to all of us.

For many, the scene also brought back memories of JIS's 60th birthday in 2011, when Dragons similarly assembled on the same field to form our school’s initials. Many of you may still remember that day or had even been a part of it!

Throughout this academic year, the 75th birthday celebration will continue to unfold with a Concert in the Park, special art exhibitions, a Heritage and Family Day at Pattimura Elementary, and much more.

Of course, we have our dedicated Alumni to thank for kicking off the festivities in epic Dragon fashion with the JIS 75 Homecoming event across Jakarta and Bali on July 29-August 2. More than 550 of you returned to Indonesia for an unparalleled series of reunion events that honored the school that shaped so much of our formative years.
