It will certainly be a year of sparkling celebrations befitting this milestone anniversary for the Jakarta Intercultural School and its 75 years of Dragons scattered around the globe and united by our shared School pride and spirit.
We also hope that it will be a year in which alumni voices help shape our School's future and alumni philanthropy supports our School's vision to be Best for the World.
Take this year-long opportunity to celebrate alongside us and make the most of what the year will have to offer Dragons from every decade. We are especially honored to recognize our key anniversary classes from 50 years to 5 Years: 1976, 1986, 1996, 2001, 2006, 2011, 2016, 2021. Let us know what you might be planning!

In a few short weeks, more than 400 Dragons from across the world will converge on Indonesia to kick off our Birthday celebrations. Four events over four days; from memory lane and merch shopping on the JIS Campus in Jakarta, to cultural immersion and community service on Bali - with the spotlight event, our JIS 75 Birthday Party at a stunning clifftop venue. Watch out for the photo galleries on our JIS Alumni Hub and in our next edition Birthday Edition of Dragon News.

Our current community will celebrate the 'Big Day' together with an all-school photo for our 2200 students, faculty, and staff. A little different from the first day Djakarta International School opened its doors in 1951 with just three students!
This fabulous drone 'formation' photo and our new school history film and exhibition (hosted on our Pattimura Campus) will be shared with you in our next edition Birthday Edition of Dragon News.
Thank you to everyone who sent recommendations for the Dragons we will honor this year through a special passion project from our Head of School, Maya Nelson (Class of 1977). We will be unveiling the hall of honor in our next Birthday Edition of Dragon News, and we can't wait to share the distinguished list featuring alumni, faculty, and staff Dragons through the decades.
The planning is taking shape for as many global birthday parties as we can possibly squeeze into our calendar.
We are currently planning for our Head of School Maya Nelson (Class of 1977), to join with Dragons in Seoul, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Texas (Houston or Dallas) in the Fall. In late January, it will be the turn of Boston, Washington DC and New York City. And we are also planning gatherings in Sydney, Singapore, London, and Tokyo as we hop on the coattails of our wonderful leadership team's travel plans and their excitement to meet our alumni around the world!
We need your help! We are a small team with high hopes for a fabulous series of events, and we would love to hear from anyone in any of the above cities to help with organising the logistics on the ground. Please contact us if you think this might be something you would enjoy: alumni@jisedu.or.id.

Our Dragon Annual Fund ensures that JIS can continue to provide an outstanding education for our present-day Dragons and supports the school in funding programs and facilities which focus on Academic Excellence and Student Experience. Diamond Dragon Gala & Auction
Save the date and plan to join us on March 20 2027 for our Diamond Dragon Gala & Auction at The Fairmont Hotel in Jakarta. This will be the 75th Birthday edition of our spectacular inaugural event last year and with the help of our amazing PTA team, we are planning a magnificent evening of entertainment and fundraising to continue Empowering Excellence through our Dragon Annual Fund at JIS.
