When Serge Stalpers (Class of 1995) revisited JIS, the track field and iconic BlueBird buses — a familiar sight for generations of students — instantly triggered a wave of nostalgia and warm memories. His Middle School class even called themselves Bean's Bluebird Buses after their homeroom teacher, Mr. Bean, an English teacher with a great sense of humor who helped students find a place on the “big campus".
Serge currently resides in the Netherlands, working at an international university.
